I'm keeping Saturday mornings open for private lessons. Monday-Thursday mornings I'm often at Higgins or Scarborough if there are waves, or doing a fitness/distance paddle on flat days, and will try and announce these on twitter and/or facebook beforehand in case anyone wants to join me.

Please be sure and save the date so you can be a part of Soposup's official opening. A lot of work has gone into the shop over the past several months to make it the best, most fun place to buy, rent or demo SUPs. We still have a long way to go, but by the end of next month, Soposup will already be the most comprehensive retail outlet catering exclusively to Stand Up Paddling in New England.

Soposup is looking for people to become part-time SUP instructors for the spring and summer. We will be offering a wide range of lessons and tours, and if we have the staff, multiple lessons may be going on at once at different locations.

Soposup instructors will be required to have completed a life-guard certification and/or water safety course. You can find information on how and where to take these classes by contacting your local pool. Additionally, you will need a good amount of experience on SUPs.

Get yourself a Santa suit and join us on a Portland harbor cruise to spread the holiday cheer. We will meet at Bug Light boat launch in S. Portland, December 18th at 10:30 am. The tide will be running out, so we will have a nice little workout paddling up to and under the Casco Bay Bridge, then a relaxing drift back to Bug Light. You will need a good winter surf suit, a PFD and your own board and paddle...and of course, a Santa outfit.
